New buys

Guess what?? I got the Sass and Bide jeans I wanted!! My friends gave me David Jones vouchers for my birthday and I grabbed them at only AUS $100. There called strayed misfits. There skinny leg with a bit of the french flag hanging out the back.

I wear them with a crisp white shirt and chucks or ballet flats or Dr. Martens. If i had braces/ suspenders I would wear them with that too, but I haven't got any which in annoying.

I just started school, so I've got a tonne of homework

Sydney Festival

Last night I went to the Sydney Festival. It was in, oviously, Sydney. It was a heap of free concerts in Hyde Park, The Domain and Martin Place. I went to the one at Hyde Park. I saw Pink Martini, who are from Portland, Oregan, and The Shuffle Club.
Also a group called Swing Patrol taught the crowd how to Swing dance, like doing the Charlston. It was really good and I ended up getting home at 2 am, because i wanted to stay because it was so good.

Yours truly is always on the look out for good buys, and i spied some delectable Sass and Bide jeans on sale at David Jones for

Its so hot!!

Oh my god. It is so hot.

I live near the sea (i.e. walking distance) but it is still so hot that I got sweaty from walking home from school today. Coastal towns are never supposed to be hot. Thats for the far away desert.
I therefore propose a few ideas of what to wear when it is stinking hot.
1. Linen caftans. e.g. Camilla Franks
2. Dresses that are slightly baby doll-ish so it doesn't cling to you when you get hot.
e.g. Fleur Wood - See a few posts ago.
3. Shorts e.g. These sass and bide ones

I think that is about it. But remember a good bikini/ One piece can go far. Like ones from Anna and Boy.

A lot of interesting things

Listening to: Aphrodisiac by Bow Wow Wow
Yesterday the craziest thing happened. My mum went to a place in Sydney where they make wigs for the Opera. she saw one that looked exactly like my shade of red hair so she asked them where they got it from and they said they got it from a girl wo lives in the same area as I do who shaved there hair in March and donated it to the Leukemia foundation. Which was exactly what I did!! So obviously my hair is going to be worn in an Opera! How cool is that?

I know every one raves on about Agyness Deyn (which I do to, but..) but I really like Iekeliene Stanges style. She has so much confidence and dresses in anything she wants. She always looks like she is one of those girls that you would have so much fun with!

Fleur Wood

Listening to: Non, je ne regrette rien
I am enraptured by Fleur Wood's latest collection, both spring- summer and autumn- winter. (She is Australian, and does a collection for the seasons here and the ones in the northern hemisphere). All her designs are so whimsical and fresh. They are always very romantic. She recently opened a store in Strand Arcade, in Pitt St mall in Sydney which was lingerie inspired. I am dying to go there. I saw a picture and she has a mural on one of the walls which is similar to frescos in Italy. Fleur Wood says that every item of her clothing is like a little piece of luxury.

I am also looking forward to the Gail Sorronda for Target.

Alexander McQueen - Spring 2008 Ready to wear tribute to Isabella Blow

I adore the new Alexander McQueen collection that is dedicated to Isabella Blow. See 'inspirational' people column on the side of my page. It definitely channelled her, especially with the hats and the outrageous designs. I love the grey dress with the red belt that had a mass of butterflies as a hat. If I ever decide to go to a prom/formal whatever people call it these days, I will definitely wear it, but it probably will be unavailable by then.
I also am reading a biography aboout George Sands. She was amazing. She dressed as a man in the 1830's.
